H1B quota usage remains low for the new quota. As of July 9th, less than one third of the entire quota has been used. Recent weeks have seen a distinct increase in demand, however, which may signal that the end of the quota is in sight.
Last year, after the initial rush, there was a period of stagnation, followed by increasing demand. This year's numbers are lower that the level of usage through the same date last year, but the pace of use appears to be increasing. Petitioners need to monitor this situation in the weeks ahead.
