We work very closely with our employer clients to help them avoid issue. For one thing, we never charge a fee for talking to clients - employer or employee. We encourage our clients to call us and discuss their concerns so that we can help them avoid problems before they occur.
Some employers retain us to work with their HR departments to conduct preventive audits of their I-9 and H1B public access files. We assist them with establishing compliance programs and help monitor them on a go forward basis. Of course, we are always available to HR if they have questions about specific issues that arise in the context of new hires or re-verification of records.
We are always happy to sit down with our clients and brainstorm strategic ideas for making their businesses more immigration efficient. This might include discussing how foreign students working on CPT or OPT are exempt from all FICA payments, or how moving employees who have filed for adjustment of status from H1B to EAD work authorization in order to save money and limit employer liability.
We look at each employer as unique and never try to impose "one size fits all" solutions. We craft individual solutions for each client.
One of the services that we offer is a complete review of all of the company's existing immigration compliance programs. Upon completion of the review, we then inform the company of all deficiencies discovered and assist the company with taking remedial action to bring the company into 100% compliance with the law. As part of this package, we also train the company staff and provide them with written materials to use on a go forward basis. We will, of course, remain available for follow up questions at no additional charge at all times following the completion of this audit and training.
In representing companies, we encourage their employees to call us with their immigration questions. We do not charge anything extra for this. Not only does this free up time for the company HR personnel, but it also allows us to stay on top of issues that arise with employees and, very often, head off problems before they arise.
